WHAT iS WATER SCARCiTY? :)
Physical water scarcity is when there isn't enough water available for the economy. Economic water scarcity takes place when the population doesn't have enough money to utilize the water in a proper way.

BOTTlEd WATER iSSUES :)
*U.S. landfills are overflowing with 2 million tons of discarded water bottles.
*Takes about 3 liters of water just to package 1 liter of bottled water.
*Since only PET bottles can be recyled all the other bottles are discarded. About 1 out of 5 bottles are sent to the recycle bin.
*Bottles used to package water takes about 1,000 years to decompose and if burnt it creates toxic fumes.

WE SHOUld CARE :)
We should care about these issues because water is an essential element to life. We use water in many different ways and without it we wouldn't be able to complete many tasks.

Physical water scarcity :Physical access to water is limited
Economic water scarcity :When a population of people do not have the necessary economic means to use an adequate source of water

Bottled Water Issues:

  1. Bottled Water is a Luxury-Drinking bottled water is a choice. It is not a necessity.
  2. Bottled Water is Wasteful- Only 1 out of 5 bottles are sent to the recycle bin.U.S. landfills are overflowing with 2 million tons of discarded water bottles alone. The environmental cost of the massive consumption of bottled water has led some U.S. and Canadian local governments to consider a ban its sale.
  3. The Money could be spent Elsewhere- The cost of one bottle of water can save a single person that does not have acess to Fresh Water.

Why do we need to care?
  • 1.1 billion people don't have safe water to drink.
  • A child dies every 15 seconds from a lack of clean water.
  • 1 in 4 children who die before age 5 worldwide, die of a water related disease.
  • Children often walk miles every day to collect dirty water to drink.
-Drayton

    • Water scarcity - is when water becomes limited
    • Water bottle issues - 1.Bottled Water is Luxury 2.Bottle Water is Wasteful 3. The Money Spent Can Be Used Better Elsewhere
[ all for bullet 2 ]
1.What defines luxury? Find out and learn why in the face of the needs of real people, suffering the real effects of water scarcity, luxury should not be our choice.
2. Most luxuries are, but bottled water has enormous costs that rival some of the biggest offenders. See how our environment, as an example, is hurt by this product.
3. Waste not, and others will want less. Learn how your resources can change someone's life! - end of bulleton 2-

- extra -
"Spending on luxury necessarily reduces one's ability to donate "disposable" income"
"The environmental cost of the massive consumption of bottled water has led some U.S. and Canadian local governments to consider a ban its sale. While this seems an extreme response, the scientific concerns are well-founded, and the facts may surprise you."
"Many consumers consider bottled water to be a part of their regular grocery expense. Over the last decade it has become a staple with the average American spending over $100 per year/per person."

    • why should we care about these things? - well if you dont start to care, our world will change into something that we can not cure. so if we get a start on it soon enough that when it is not horribly effected, we can save it. We all need water, and water keeps cycling, but without clean water to use [ like some countries] it risks lifes.

1. ther is not enough of water to go around.
2.they did not have enough money to buy bottle water.
3. you have to think about what if that whas you and you wonted someone or somebody to help you out in life show the way i look at it is if you show respect you get respect..

Water scarcity is a state of having very little water or water access.

The problems with bottled water is that bottled water is considered an unnecessary luxury that is very money consuming when the money used for bottles for the water can be used elsewhere.

We should care because over one billion people don’t have access to water. Just think about this: a child dies every 15 seconds due to unclean and contaminated water.
